My Journey to Tamale

I embarked on a remarkable journey to Tamale, Ghana, in response to an invitation from Brother Kenneth Kunditani CSC. Brother Kenneth, who serves diligently in the Archdiocese of Tamale, invited me to meet with the Catholic students of the School of Hygiene. The purpose of my visit was to introduce these students to the incredible work and mission of the Holy Cross Family Ministries, an international organization dedicated to fostering and nurturing the spiritual life of families, particularly through the practice of the Rosary. Founded by Venerable Fr. Patrick Peyton, the ministry holds prayer as its cornerstone.

Sharing the Vision of Holy Cross Family Ministries:

As I stood before approximately 30 Catholic students, I felt a sense of excitement and anticipation, ready to share the transformative message of the Holy Cross Family Ministries. I began by highlighting the ministry’s primary focus: to help families pray, especially through the devotion of the Rosary. I emphasized how prayer plays a central role in fostering and nurturing the spiritual life of families, helping them grow in love and faith. The students listened intently, eager to learn more about the ministry’s vision and the impact it could have on their lives.

Exploring the Ministry’s Initiatives:

Delving deeper into the initiatives and programs offered by the Holy Cross Family Ministries, I elaborated on the profound significance of the Rosary. I shared how the ministry encourages families to come together and pray, experiencing the power of this spiritual practice in their lives. The Rosary serves as a tool for unity, love, and deepening one’s relationship with God and family members. I recounted inspiring stories of families worldwide who have witnessed the transformative effects of regular Rosary prayer.

Alongside the Rosary, I discussed other initiatives initiated by the Holy Cross Family Ministries. I emphasized how the ministry, inspired by its founder Venerable Fr. Patrick Peyton, utilizes various means, such as Family Theater Productions, to convey important moral and spiritual messages to families. Through theater and media, families are encouraged to embrace faith, communicate openly, and instill values that foster a strong moral foundation.

Engaging in Dialogue and Reflection:

After providing insights into the Holy Cross Family Ministries’ initiatives, I encouraged the students to actively participate in dialogue and share their thoughts, questions, and aspirations related to family life and spirituality. This interactive session created a space for them to express their opinions, concerns, and personal experiences. Drawing from my encounters within the ministry, I addressed their queries, shared personal anecdotes, and offered guidance, strengthening our connection and deepening their understanding of the ministry’s mission.

The Impact of the Presentation:

The presentation left a lasting impression on the Catholic students of the School of Hygiene in Tamale. They expressed their gratitude for my visit and commended the Holy Cross Family Ministries for its noble efforts in supporting families worldwide. Inspired by the presentation, some students even expressed their interest in integrating the practice of the Rosary into their daily lives and becoming ambassadors of love and unity within their families.
