STRENGTHENING MARRIAGES: A THREE-DAY COUNSELING WORKSHOP
Holy Cross Family Ministries Ghana recently hosted a transformative Three-Day Train the Trainer Workshop for Marriage Counsellors from October 17th to 21st, 2024, in the vibrant city of Tamale. This initiative aimed to enhance family counseling skills among 16 passionate participants from regions including Wa, Sunyani, and Bolgatanga, all united by a common goal: addressing family-related challenges through effective marriage counseling. Facilitated by Rev. Sr. Rejoice E. Hoedoafia, a dedicated clinical psychologist, the workshop provided comprehensive training on Catholic marriage counseling. Each day began with a morning Mass, fostering community spirit. Participants explored the foundations of marriage counseling, communication techniques, and conflict resolution skills tailored to the Ghanaian context. The final day focused on integrating faith with counseling practices and addressing practical challenges faced by couples in crisis. The workshop concluded with a certification ceremony, celebrating the commitment of participants to enhancing family life. This workshop not only equipped counselors with essential skills but also laid the groundwork for ongoing professional development in marriage counseling across Northern Ghana. Holy Cross Family Ministries remains dedicated to empowering individuals to strengthen family dynamics and foster healthier relationships within their communities.
